It’s interesting, Dylan, and I understand and agree with your sentiment. But the love letter in the beginning makes me cringe to read, and I think would cause even the best woman at any time to roll her eyes.

Our society puts women up on a high pedestal now, and they find it very unattractive. We have to be careful that while advising young men to seek the old paths, we don’t lead them to a type of self-effacing courtship that certainly worked better in a specific aristocracy culture, and a time where men controlled all the wealth and power. ‚I die every day I can’t have you‘ only works if it’s understood ironically.

Women don’t want men who‘s happiness actually hinges on them, even they like hearing them playfully say it.
